On the occasion of the worldwide celebrations commemorating the end of World War II in Europe and Asia

Hidden Treasures of Culture Projects invites you to the event "Between the Ends – May 8th and September 3rd, 1945 - After or before major challenges for the world in light of the memory of promises to humanity" on May 16, 2024 in Berlin, as part of its dialogue series "Berlin meets the World: Together and not against each other - Cooperation despite competition". We are pleased to announce that we have secured as our special guest and speaker

Dr. Volker Stanzel,

Senior Distinguished Fellow of the German Institute for International and Security Affairs and former Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Beijing and Tokyo, who, due to his extensive experience and active research in the fields of global politics, will ensure a profound dialogue. The current world situation seems to bring back the unresolved questions of both the Second and First World Wars in a peculiar way, accompanied by uncertainties for all sides.

The number of participants is very limited and explicitly extends to those for whom the consequences of the end of World War II, which vary greatly, still serve as not only an occasion for reflection, but also for active dialogue efforts today. We are aware that, precisely because of the current conflicts, not all recipients of this invitation will pursue this objective.
